Chapel Street is open on Saturdays for consultations by prior appointment only.

Enhanced access

Chapel Street Medical Centre are part of primary care plus which is a community interest company (CIC).

Primary care plus offer pre-booked extended access appointments for all patients registered at the below practices.

Appointment times

The extended access appointments are provided on weekday evenings and weekends.

We are delivering these services from five ‘hub’ practices in:

  • Allenton
  • Spondon
  • Chaddesden
  • Normanton
  • Allestree

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

Accessibility

The practice has done its utmost to be easily accessible and user-friendly for our disabled and wheelchair-bound patients. There are designated parking spaces in the car park at each surgery and access to and within each building is compliant with legislation.

A wheelchair is available for those with difficulty in walking, which can be obtained through our reception staff. There are also toilet facilities for the disabled on the ground floor at each surgery.

If you experience any problems, please speak to our reception staff who will do their utmost to assist you.

Other access issues

Prams and bicycles

Prams and bicycles may be left in the outer foyer of the main entrance to each surgery at your own risk.

Dogs

All dogs, with the exception of assistance dogs, should be left outside the building.

Those requiring an assistance dog to access the building are welcome to do so.

Breast feeding

We understand you may wish to breast feed your baby when attending the surgery and you are welcome to do so.

If you wish to do this somewhere private, please speak to a member of the reception staff and we will try to accommodate you.

Smoking and food

The building is a non-smoking building and we ask that this be observed.

We would request also that patients do not eat and drink whilst waiting for their appointments. A cup of water may be obtained from reception on request.

Facilities available with the practice

We have:

  • Disabled access to most of the rooms in the clinical areas of each surgery
  • A room for nappy changing
  • A room to discuss matters in private on request
  • A comfortable waiting area
