Test results

Getting your test results

When you have had a test, the clinician will advise you of the follow-up action following your test and how you will receive your results:

  • If no further action is required, we will not contact you
  • The clinician will arrange any required follow-up, you do not need to contact us

There is no need for you to routinely contact us for your results.

Systems are in place to ensure patients are contacted immediately regarding any results requiring urgent action.

Once a clinician has reviewed your test results, you can view them:

Questions about your results

If you want to talk to someone about your results, phone us on Chapel Street Medical Centre 01332 680520 or Mayfield Medical Centre 01332 680530 or visit the practice.

Blood tests

Booking a blood test appointment

Please note blood tests at the practice are only available if your condition genuinely prevents you, from travelling to one of the local designated blood test clinics.

For routine blood tests, please book an appointment using the Swift Queue system. You can schedule your blood test appointment by visiting the link or QR code below:

www.uhdb.nhs.uk/service-phlebotomy-blood-tests

For urgent blood tests, you may take your printed form directly to Coleman Street Clinic, Florence Nightingale Hospital, London Road or Ilkeston Community Hospital.

Visit the link or QR code below for more options and information: www.uhdb.nhs.uk/phlebotomy-blood-test-clinics/

The District Nursing team will only carry out blood tests for housebound patients.

Please note that for a routine test you will not be seen if you attend without an appointment.

When you book, please ensure you have received an email from Swiftqueue as confirmation of your booking.

You do not have to have your test at your nearest clinic, you may find that your waiting time is reduced if you are flexible as to where you have your test.

For guidance on how to book your test, please see how do I book my blood test appointment?

No access to the internet

We understand that not everyone has internet access. If you do not have internet access then you are able to attend Babbington Hospital, Coleman Street Health Centre, Florence Nightingale Community Hospital or St Oswalds and you will be seen as a walk-in appointment. These appointments are only for people who cannot access the internet, if we suspect abuse of this system then we will ask you to book an appointment. The advice is to come early, you may be required to wait.
